Unique and Awesome Ideas for Your Organic Wedding

By February 20, 2017 No Comments

Sometimes, there are just some random but incredible wedding ideas that capture your attention. They don’t really fit into any one category, but they add a lot to your special day. We’ve visited hundreds of websites, attended dozens of wedding, and done our fair share of research. As a result of this, we present a list of unique and awesome ideas for your organic wedding.

Have DIY Activities for Guests.

Do-it-yourself activities are more popular than ever, so why should weddings stray from that trend? Give your guests a truly interactive experience. You can have a make your own organic juice bar, or even a station where guests can decorate their own cupcakes. These are great options, as they make it easier to please all the guests while getting them involved in your special day. These ideas can all be tailored to fit your needs. If you’re having a gluten-free wedding, gluten-free cupcake bases and toppings are completely doable. If there’s a nut allergy, you can make a DIY food station an allergen-free zone.

Ditch the Guest Book.

Guest books are a great memory to have from your wedding day, but they’re also extremely wasteful and outdated. Instead of opting for a typical guest sign-in book, try something completely different. There are so many ideas! In the photo above, the bride and groom had guests sign their names and messages on stones. This is something so unlike the guest books most wedding couples use, and you can keep them in a large mason jar on display in your home.

For other one-of-a-kind sign-in books, you can have guests leave their thumbprint on a canvas, have them sign wooden hearts that go in a shadowbox, or even have them sign a globe where they’re from. Guests will be happy to not have to sign a typical guest book, and you’ll be happy to have a unique memory. Bonus: you won’t be wasting tons of paper that goes untouched in the back of the book.

Choose an Unconventional Wedding Venue.

Who says weddings have to be at a banquet hall, church, or hotel?! The world is your oyster! Choosing a unique wedding venue is one of the easiest and most exciting ways to set your wedding apart. Vineyards, apple orchards, local farms… these are all great options that aren’t overdone. They also fit seamlessly into your organic or eco-friendly wedding theme. For indoor options, look into local museums or aquariums. These places often offer wedding packages, and they provide a one-of-a-kind backdrop to your special day. Are you both musicians? Rent out a music venue and have your reception on the stage. Love camping? Rent out a summer camp in the off-season. Your guests can stay in bunks, you’ll have tons of fun activities, and it’ll be a wedding to remember.

Arrive at Your Wedding in Style.

Everyone wants to pull up to their wedding in a stylish car or limousine. But, as we all know, they aren’t all that eco-friendly. Pull up to your wedding in eco-friendly style. You can opt for an old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage, or go completely wild with a bicycle or unicycle. Don’t be afraid of a memorable entrance! Your guests will absolutely flip!

Ditch the Typical Wedding Garb.

We’ve all seen too many white wedding dresses and black suits to count. Stand out by choosing some different attire for your wedding. There are tons of eco-friendly materials to choose from, such as linen, cotton, and silk. Go simple with a wedding romper or pantsuit, or go completely wild with costumes or overalls. There are so many ways you can go with your outfits! If a white ballgown isn’t your thing, don’t force yourself to wear one. Your guests will love seeing something different, and you’ll be more comfortable at your wedding.

There you have it! Incorporate as few or as many of these ideas you’d like for your special day. Each one is unique in its own way, and they’re sure to leave your guests talking about how exceptional and distinct your wedding was. Just remember, this is your special day. It should be everything you want it to be, and not just what others expect it to be!
