What’s a wedding without some amazing drinks?! Having an eco-friendly or organic wedding is no reason to skimp out on the cocktails. We’ve put together a list of some of the best organic wedding cocktails, and related ideas, for you to include in your special day.
Incorporate your favorite fruits (and veggies).
The number one element to consider when deciding on organic cocktails for your wedding is the fruits—or veggies, if you prefer. Depending on the time of your you’re getting married, you can incorporate organic strawberries, watermelon, lemons, limes, apples, and more.
Nowadays, people are even opting to include veggies in their beverages. Some examples are carrot ginger coolers and cucumber martinis. Opting for organic fruits and veggies in your cocktails is such a simple way to keep your special day organic and keep the guests happy. For an extra element of customization, have pre-sliced fruits and veggies with the cocktails so guests can choose their favorites to add to their drinks.
Have a signature drink.
If you don’t feel like dealing with all sorts of alcoholic creations on your big day, work with your significant other to decide on a signature drink. Choose the best organic ingredients, discuss it with your caterer, and voila! You’ll have a special drink that is just for your wedding day. Don’t be afraid to get creative with it. If you love raspberries, but your fiancé is more of a lime person, test out some recipes for raspberry lime margaritas. Bonus: come up with a fun, special, and/or clever name for your signature cocktail.
“Mocktails” are never a bad idea.
Who says alcohol is the only way to go?! If you have a lot of young wedding guests, or just want to try something different, “mocktails” are all the rage right now. They’re super simple: just use the same ingredients you would use in any other drink, minus the alcohol. If you’re set on having 100% organic ingredients used at your wedding, you’re in luck! “Mocktails” can easily be made with organic sodas and beverages, such as Reed’s Ginger Brews, Spindriff Soda, Zevia, and Izze.
Keep your drink vehicles eco-friendly.
The ingredients in your wedding cocktails aren’t the only things that can be organic or eco-friendly. Instead of having plastic flutes or cups, add some style to your special day by having small mason jars for guests to drink their cocktails from. Alternatively, go old-school and use a punch bowl setup, instead of wasting tons of extra wrapping and packaging to have individually-packaged drinks. This adds a unique element to your wedding while also helping the environment.
